La Boca, translated into English, means mouth in reference to the location of this suburb at "the mouth" of the Rio Plata in Buenos Aires. As a port of trade, the area was built with discarded materials from the ships delivering cargo.  Turning into an artists' community, the corrugated tin and other material were painted in bright colors attracting a mixture of entertainers, artists and tourists.  The group of men in this piece were serenading passers-by in a rich Spanish mixed with Portuguese language that spoke of the varied people gathered there. Since there is a vocalist in the group, I thought "La Boca," the mouth, was a meaningful title.  I greatly enjoyed my time in this artistic community and even took an afternoon art class just for the experience.
