Sporting Life
When I was six years old we lived on a sheep ranch in Northern California. During our time there, my family made friends with the hired Basque sheep herder who used dogs to manage the herd. This kind soul gifted us with one pup from his litter of McNab Shepherds in gratitude for a kindness my parents granted him. My love of dogs began there and has continued ever since. In fact, a dog by my side has become a comfort I find irresistible.
The dogs depicted in this collection of paintings are both sporting and companion dogs that bring to their masters a sense of unconditional love unlike any other. I hope these paintings leave you with a fond memory of any and all dogs you may have had the privilege of sharing your life with.
Fishing and hunting were also a part of my family life and some of these paintings represent fond memories of those adventures.
